Volleyball  | Basketball

Venice Lutheran School offers Volleyball and/or Basketball as an after-school sport for students in 5th through 8th grades. Being part of a team requires commitment from beginning to  end in teamwork, and the benefits of these lessons can stretch through an entire lifetime.

Volleyball begins in September and lasts through November. Basketball begins either in December or right after Christmas vacation and lasts through March. The Junior Varsity team consists of 5th and 6th grade students; the Varsity team include 7th and 8th grade. Anyone who wishes to play will be placed on a team; there are no tryouts held and teams are co-ed. Practices and games for these sports are normally scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, on the playground and last approximately one hour. Professional staff supervises the program. Parents are invited and encouraged to participate in both the coaching and officiating. Intra-mural competition exists between other schools in the community and these games are held on the Venice Lutheran School campus or at the campus of the opposing team.
