National Lutheran Schools Week
National Lutheran Schools Week is a special time set aside to recognize our Lutheran heritage in Christian Education and provides us with an opportunity to do a few things out of the ordinary – just for fun! We join over 2000 Lutheran schools all over the country as we participate in unique activities, worship services and highlight classroom projects.
Highlights for the week include: Favorite T-Shirt/Sweatshirt Day, Silly Dress Day and Color Top & Denim Bottom Day. Another significant aspect of National Lutheran Schools Week is student projects. All family, friends and prospective students and their parents are invited to visit the school for an “Open House” evening to view our students’ contributions to a Social Studies, Science or Speech Fair that rotate from year to year. On Friday, the school week ends with Game Day. Each classroom competes as a team in different events like the water balloon toss, hula-hoop relay and wrap the mummy race. Teachers also join in with the students to compete. Game on! To wrap up the week, on Sunday our church holds a celebration worship service in honor of Lutheran Schools and the blessings of a Christ-centered education.
