Visual Arts

An award-winning curriculum entitled Arts Attack forms part of our school’s art program. Used extensively by both trained art specialists and classroom teachers, the ARTS ATTACK method is known for enabling all instructors to achieve exceptional results when teaching elementary art. We are also blessed to have a number of professional and amateur artists in our school community and neighborhood who volunteer to augment our curriculum with special projects, including class trips to a real artist’s studio to paint.

Another component of our art curriculum is the new Arts Enrichment program, offered through the award-winning PS Arts organization. Classes take place during the school day each Monday for 8 weeks. The PS Arts organization’s mission is to bring the study of fine arts to school children. Numerous studies affirm that arts education makes a tremendous impact on the developmental growth of every child. The goals of PS ARTS is to engage young minds, develop creative skills, improve observational powers, increase receptivity and develop problem solving abilities – all skills that serve children in their academic and personal development.
